Getting started with your TANITA scale is simple. A few small setup steps can help ensure accurate, reliable performance from the very first use.
1. Choose the Right Surface
Place your scale on a hard, flat surface, such as tile or hardwood flooring. Avoid carpet, mats, or uneven surfaces, as these can affect readings.
2. Power On the Scale
Depending on your model:
- Insert the batteries as directed, or
- Ensure the device is fully charged
Once powered, allow the scale to sit undisturbed for a moment so it can properly initialize.
3. Position the Scale Correctly
Make sure the scale is:
- Fully level
- Not touching walls or other objects
- Positioned where it won’t be moved between uses
Keeping the scale in the same location helps maintain consistent results.
4. Take Your First Measurement
Step onto the scale as instructed for your model. Stand still and evenly balanced until the measurement is complete.
If your scale includes advanced features or connectivity, follow the instructions provided with your product for additional setup.
5. Use Consistent Conditions
For best results over time, use your scale under similar conditions each time. This helps ensure measurements are consistent and comparable.
